It Is Time To Be The New Testament Church

HodeIt is time to be the New Testament Church and love one another. As 2015 begins the trumpet is sounding by the Spirit of God. The final harvest of this age is just ahead. A harvest, not only of new sons coming into the Kingdom, but of the fruit of the Spirit in the midst of the true saints.

We thank God for the Church of Jesus Christ’s beginning at Jesus’ resurrection, His resurrection only possible because Jesus became to us, our Passover. The ‘sheaf’ was waved before the Lord that preceded Pentecost when two wave ‘loaves’ of two tenth deals of fine flour, baked with leaven, were brought out as first fruits unto the Lord. But there is yet a Feast of Ingathering, the Feast of Tabernacles, that is at the end of the year when the Lord of the harvest will gather in His labours out of the field. (Exodus 23:16) Jesus spoke of this “time of harvest” that He said would come “at the end of the age” when the “righteous will shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father.” (Matthew 13:30, 39 & 43)

The day of Pentecost is over and the trumpet warnings are still sounding throughout the earth. This is still the Day of Trumpets. With a trumpet voice the Spirit calls to His people everywhere, to love as He has first loved us, calling them to a repentance without which none will see Him. The Trumpet  is calling us to faith, working through patience in the midst of Satanic opposition, calling us to His holiness that we can only walk in as we walk by His Spirit; that we might show forth the same grace with which He has bestowed upon us in His great love. Grace is free but displaying His graciousness will cost us everything, counting ourselves dead that we might walk in newness of life.

The time is drawing to a close for soothing, ear-tickling words to a corrupt church that is not in reality the church at all. In this the Day of Trumpets may we hear the voice of God.  Yet much of the Church seems asleep and doesn’t even want to be woken up. What will need to happen for the Church to awake; to cease from their own agendas and listen to God’s voice? Whilst the Lord continues to shake the earth it seems that those who name the Name of the Lord are not fully listening, just as the world will not listen until they see and hear more bad news. Though God is speaking men, both believer and unbeliever alike, also misinterpret the signs of the times. Where are the true sons of God who are led by the Spirit? Where can we see a repentance from dead works and true faith towards God? Yet we know this will come at the appointed time. Meanwhile the true motives of men’s hearts are being exposed. As never before we should be praying for wisdom and spiritual discernment that only the Holy Spirit can give us. Let us earnestly ask for eye salve.

Before The Lord Returns

As the end of the age draws ever nearer let us not be shaken as regards the events that must precede the coming of Jesus. Paul wrote to the Church at Thessalonica telling them of events that must precede the “coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together unto Him,” so that they would not be “quickly shaken” from their composure or “be disturbed by a spirit… to the effect that Day of The Lord was at hand.” (2 Thess.2:1&2) Paul was clear that the ‘man of lawlessness’ be revealed and the great falling away - the apostasy - comes first.

Now in our day we are surrounded by speculations and differing interpretations of scripture that Satan would bring to bring confusion to the true Church. So let us be assured by what prophesy of scripture tells us of those events that must be seen before Jesus returns.

We will certainly not miss them, such is the magnitude of these events but as at the time of this writing in 2015 we can ask for understanding that we are not shaken.
